GYM INFORMATION[break][break]
A two-in-one structure, the Fortree Rescue & Treatment Sanctuary is first and foremost, a reservation located closer to the city limits headed out toward Route 120. Serving as a hospital and a rehabilitation center mainly geared towards Flying-types, a place where the weary avians from all over Hoenn can come for a rest before continuing on their journey.[break][break]
A little surprise about the facility is the fact that it also serves those that may not be of the actual Flying-type, but have wings or can fly all the same—there’s no discrimination to be had here. Any and
all Pokémon also welcome to take a breather and spend an evening before moving on towards where they have to go, seeing as the city is in the middle of several migration routes that crisscross the region.[break][break]
At the same time the gym’s main ‘arena’ is literally open to the sky—
as this is the preferred territory for the Gym Leader’s companions—located not too far from the structures that serve as the main hospital and rehab centers where volunteer staff workers can be found tending to the injured Pokémon brought in from all over the area.[break][break][break][break]

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE[break][break]
Courage, bravery and determination in the face of chaotic variables; embodied by the various weather disturbances and/or aerial obstacles encountered via both traditional and non-traditional battle methods.[break][break]
Basically: don’t lose your head and give in to panic; face whatever comes hurtling at you head-on no matter what it is; and let the winds guide your instinct.[break][break][break][break]

BATTLE REGULATIONS[break][break]
SIZE LIMIT » When it comes to Pokémon on the reasonably larger end of the scale, those are fine—however if it’s something like Wailord then that would have to be a
no since the sheer size and devastation of its attacks can cause potentially heavy damage to the surrounding area around Fortree and its forests.[break][break]
BATTLE STYLE » Unless agreed on beforehand: traditional battles that take place will be singles, 1 on 1 OR 2 on 2 (challenger’s choice).[break][break]
BANNED MOVES » Perish Song / Destiny Bond are not allowed to be used![break][break]
POKEMON LIMIT » A minimum of two Pokémon is the standard for traditional battles; although more are welcome to spectate the match![break][break]
NON-TRADITIONAL » Let’s face it: with all that open sky, Alexei’s bound to think of unusual ways to battle for the badge…so don’t be surprised if he asks you to join him in an aerial race or a Sky Battle in the arena! If this is the case, please make sure you have
at least one Pokémon on your team that you can ride up into the air![break][break]
NON-TRADITIONAL OPTIONS AVAILABLE » The first option is a test of trust, and courage (or maybe insanity, who knows?!). This involves having a blindfolded Flying-themed Pokémon (anything that can reasonably carry a person's weight in the air) and flying through** a two-part gauntlet of weather obstacles.[break][break]
The first half being a test of navigation, while the second half is a game of tag. Catch Alexei in the second half, you get the badge.
Weather terrains vary with each challenger so no telling what combination will get thrown someone’s way![break][break]
**Update: when taking this non-traditional option,
please stay within the weather obstacle boundaries! As an aside, the weather cannot be dispelled either as this is part of the challenge.[break][break]
The second option is an aerial jousting match. The first to land three hits on the other Pokémon / rider wins. Get creative![break][break]
The third option, inspired by the Hoenn Star Tournament is an aerial obstacle course. The only main objective of this option: survive the challenges
in one piece. The obstacles
will vary for each challenge, so think of it like an aerial version of Takeshi’s Castle.[break][break]
NOTE ABOUT NON-TRADITIONAL CHALLENGES » All non-trad challenge options now have an element of unpredictability thrown in:
dice rolls! These rolls will determine the outcome of whatever obstacles are thrown the challenger’s way![break][break]
LEGENDARY SHOWDOWN » UNDER CONSTRUCTION, CHECK BACK SOON ;D

EXTRA INFORMATION[break][break]
- While the theme of the gym is primarily Flying-types, there will be occasions that he won’t use those that are aligned with the Flying-type, but have wings all the same (think: Hydreigon / Volcarona / Flygon, for some examples).
- Currently the hospital and rehabilitation facility is being funded out of his own pocket, so please try not to target the buildings in the distance!
- Should you be a member aligned with Rocket that he’s met previously, there’s going to be a possibility the challenge might not be accepted; in fact you might be arrested on sight!
